Consumer Loans

Loans to consumers by credit providers, such as banks and credit unions, are required to comply with the Consumer Credit Code.  This involves a large amount of disclosure and specific documentation relating to the loan itself and any security to be taken by the lender - such as mortgages.

If these requirements are not complied with, it may be a breach of the legislation that may lead to severe consequences.

Whether you are a lender or a borrower, you should speak with a member of our Finance, Loans and Securities Team law today so you are fully aware of the requirements and possible consequences of taking a financial loan.
