This month, the Australian Red Cross has been running their tastiest fundraising campaign ever: The Big Cake Bake.
It doesn’t take much to support this cause. It’s deliciously simple. When you enjoy a slice of cake and a cuppa at a Big Cake Bake event the money raised will help connect more people to their strengths, each other and to the things we all need to build good lives.
For the duration of October, the Red Cross is encouraging schools, workplaces and households to jump onboard this great campaign to raise money in support of life-changing work the Red Cross undertakes around the world.
At Bennett & Philp, we’re not unfamiliar with a good, old-fashioned bake-off.
Earlier this month, resident fundraising queen, Penny, had challenged her team of office bakers to produce their finest baked treats for a special Big Cake Bake morning tea.
Yesterday, after an exhausting weekend of kneading, whisking, blending and baking, Penny’s team produced a wonderful spread of delectable treats. It was up to the rest of the firm to choose a winning dish based on taste and presentation.

Bennett & Philp’s Big Cake Bake
It’s safe to say this was a popular event among staff who ensured this bake-off produced one of our best fundraising efforts yet.
The winning dish was an amazing Poire Au Tatin created by Business Advisory director, Maurice Hannan.
A big thanks to Penny for organising another great fundraising event for a wonderful cause. If you’d like to donate to the Red Cross, please visit their website. Or, donate via Penny’s Big Cake Bake page via this link here.
