Bennett & Philp Beach Bowl 2020
On Monday, 3 February 2020, Bennett & Philp hosted its annual Beach Bowl fundraiser over the river at the wonderful Southbank Beer Garden.
The annual B&P Beach Bowl is an opportunity to get together with some great colleagues and network contacts to enjoy America’s greatest live sporting event, the Super Bowl, all the while raising much-needed funds for some great not-for-profit organisations. The event is one-part viewing party and one-part fundraiser with some of our professional services friends kindly donating some great prizes to be raffled off.
This year’s event was for Super Bowl LIV between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers, an interesting match-up with the Chiefs being the slight favourite despite a fifty-year absence from the championship game. The contest saw the 49ers take the lead after three quarters only for the Chiefs to storm back in the final period to take home the trophy.
We’d like to thank our wonderful sponsors who donated the incredible prizes for our raffle draw. Professional Chartered Accounting firm, Cooper Reeves, donated a bottle of the exquisite St Hugo Shiraz 2016 Barossa Valley. Property finance firm, The Brokerage, kindly put forward a substantial voucher for sports retailer, Rebel. Our friends over at Chartered Accounting firm, Carter Connell, kindly donated a voucher for an evening for two at Brisbane’s top steak restaurant, Cha Cha Char. And finally, our top prize for the day was donated by wealth management and advisory firm, Shadforth Financial Group. The prize was a seven-course degustation dinner for two paired with matching wines at one of Brisbane’s finest dining venues, Alchemy Restaurant and Bar.
The charity selected to receive the funds raised from this year’s event is Stepping Stone Clubhouse, a member-based community organisation that successfully addresses the serious impact of mental illness.

We’re happy to announce that the 2020 B&P Beach Bowl raised over three thousand dollars of much-needed funds for Stepping Stone Clubhouse.
