Daniel Ronan
Daniel is a Director in Property and Planning section of Bennett and Philp.
Daniel has over 20 years of experience in dealing with a broad range of property related transactions and disputes.
Daniel has acted in numerous transactions involving the sale and purchase of residential, commercial and industrial properties.
Daniel has had extensive experience in assisting property developers in all types of property development including residential, community titles schemes and commercial properties. Daniel is able to assist property developers with every step of the process including site acquisition, planning issues, titling and the preparation of off the plan contracts and post registration contracts.
Having commenced his career in regional Queensland as an articled clerk, Daniel also has also has a keen interest in rural transactions, that include properties used for the farming of crops and livestock.
Daniel’s practice also covers commercial and retail leasing, having acted for numerous landlords and tenants over the years.
Having a sound knowledge of the law relating to property, Daniel has handled numerous disputes that involve property, including contractual disputes, encroachments, stormwater issues and various other disputes that involve property.
Daniel also handles many of the planning matters in the firm. This includes providing advice in relation to planning applications, approvals and, if necessary, acting for parties in matters that proceed to the Planning and Environment Court, including appeals against refusals by the local authority, submitter appeals, appeals against conditions and appeals against enforcement notices.
Daniel is committed to service excellence and partners closely with his clients to deliver the best outcomes. He possesses exceptional technical legal skills and takes a calm, measured approach when delivering these solutions for his clients.
Daniel is also a member of a Sports Law team at Bennett and Philp Lawyers.
Prior to joining the legal profession, Daniel was a member of the Australian men’s volleyball team for 8 years. During this time Daniel played in many tournaments including World League, World Championships, World Grand Champions Cup and the Sydney 2000 Olympics.
After the Olympics, Daniel continued with his sporting passion competing in triathlons at all distances from sprint distance through to the full Ironman distances.
Daniel continues to be active in sport by involvement in his children’s AFL football clubs in various volunteering and coaching roles and also competing in local AFL 9’s competitions.
